Samsung Supplying 11M Panels for Apple’s Foldable iPhone, Leak Claims
Apple is gearing up big for its first foldable iPhone — a new report claims the company has ordered a massive 11 million OLED panels from Samsung, signaling a serious push into the foldable market.
Jukan05’s post on X suggests both Apple and Samsung are betting big on Apple’s upcoming foldable.
Apple is said to be sourcing 11 million OLED panels from Samsung Display, signaling an entry into the segment that exceeds earlier industry predictions.
Jukan05 suggests Apple is gearing up to ship roughly 10 million foldable iPhones, noting that manufacturers typically order more panels than the number of devices they ultimately produce.
This projected volume hints at Apple’s expectation of capturing a strong share of a foldable market that only reaches about 20 million units per year.
The report notes that Apple’s foldable will open like a book, with a 7.58-inch inner display and a 5.35-inch outer one.
Sources say Apple may improve the notorious crease through new display technologies, including COE and under-display cameras.
Apple hasn’t commented on the foldable iPhone yet, and its release window remains unclear.
That said, we previously reported a possible 2027 launch and pricing that may exceed the Galaxy Fold7 by about $400.
