Right on cue, vivo pulled back the curtain at MWC to tease its next imaging powerhouse — the X300 Ultra.

While this wasn’t a full-scale launch, it offered a tantalizing preview of what the company has in store.

The real headline, however, is bigger than the sneak peek itself: the X300 Ultra is officially set to launch beyond China.

If that plan holds, it will mark the first time a vivo “Ultra” model makes its way to international markets — a significant shift for the brand’s flagship strategy.

Exactly which countries will get the device remains under wraps, and pricing details are still a mystery.

For now, all we know is that vivo is preparing to take its most ambitious camera phone global — and that alone makes the X300 Ultra one to watch.

Vivo may have kept the X300 Ultra’s final design and full specifications under wraps, but it didn’t leave us empty-handed.

Instead, the spotlight shifted to something arguably more exciting: its completely redesigned teleconverter and camera setup.

Enter the boldly titled vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen2 Ultra. Beyond the long name lies a serious leap in mobile photography.

This new extender pushes the boundaries with an industry-leading 400mm equivalent focal length — a dramatic jump in reach for a smartphone system.

To put that into perspective, it doubles the range offered by last year’s X200 Ultra photography kit.

The payoff? A remarkable 17x optical zoom, bringing distant subjects closer than ever without sacrificing true optical quality.

Vivo may be playing coy with the phone itself, but when it comes to zoom power, the message is loud and clear.

With in-sensor zoom cropping pushing the limits, the combined reach of the X300 Ultra and its teleconverter stretches an incredible 800mm.

Vivo confidently states that the setup delivers a full 200MP optical output—and even when digitally cropped to 1600mm, it maintains remarkably clean, detailed image quality that refuses to fall apart.

But the hardware story doesn’t stop there. Alongside the phone, vivo unveiled a dedicated Camera Cage that turns the X300 Ultra into a true grab-and-go filmmaking rig.

Designed for creators, it adds multiple mounting points for accessories like an external flash, a multi-speed cooling fan, or a tripod for stable shots.

You also get tactile shutter controls for a more natural shooting experience, plus quick-release ports that make switching setups fast and seamless.

Vivo has yet to officially reveal the camera details of the X300 Ultra — but if the latest leaks are accurate, it’s shaping up to be an absolute imaging powerhouse.

Rumors suggest the device will debut a next-generation 200MP primary camera powered by Sony’s new LYT901 sensor, promising sharper detail and improved light capture.

Zoom performance could also take a massive leap, with talk of a 200MP periscope telephoto module built around Samsung’s HPB sensor.

Rounding out the setup, the X300 Ultra is said to include a 50MP ultrawide lens using Sony’s LYT828 sensor, plus a dedicated multispectral sensor for enhanced color accuracy and scene precision.

If these specs hold true, Vivo may be preparing one of the most ambitious smartphone camera systems we’ve seen yet.
